Forgot to grab your mom a Mother’s Day gift? Alcohol is always a good gift - one size fits all! And craft beer is even better. So, here are some of our newest additions to our shelves that could be your next gift (for your mom or for you)!
PUCKER UP, THIS BEER IS SOUR (AND SO GOOD THAT YOU MIGHT EVEN WANNA KISS IT)
Nobody loves a good kettle sour more than we do. It refreshes you in the sun and brightens your day when it’s dark — it’s hard not to love it. And the best part is, if you’re not a usually beer fanatic… sours just might turn you. Category 12’s Dry-Hopped Sour is loaded with tropical flavour as a result of using Huell Melon and Mandarin Bavaria hops. It smells like you’re on a tropical island somewhere nice with those hints of grapefruit, citrus, and melon floating above your can. It’s sour, acidic, and hoppy; but all together, the flavour is juicy and refreshing… and now, in 4-packs!
DON’T LET BEER RULE YOUR WHOLE LIFE, JUST YOUR TASTE BUDS
This unique brew is brought to you (through us) by Stone Brewing located all the way in California! While it may not be local to us, it’s still so good that we brought it here to get a taste of this bold. one-of-a-kind beer. Their Espresso Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout is brewed with espresso beans galore, making it taste like a roasted cup of coffee that’s sweet but bitter, intertwined with the classic character of the imperial Russian stout. It’s like they are a match made in heaven… or California.
WHY HAVE ONE WHEN YOU CAN HAVE TWO?
If you’re doing something right, do it again… and change it up a little bit to give yourself some “variety”. The Blackberry Sour by Category 12 is here in the bomber bottle and it feels like our BC blackberries are being put to extremely good use in a brew like this one. This beer is approachable with an upfront tart + sour flavour, a medium body, and a kick of that refreshing taste and aroma of berries. This beer makes us proud to live in BC because these berries are highlighted beautifully in this beer. Get in your dose of berries and brews all in one sip (although nutritionally it doesn’t count, but I won’t tell).
ALL ABOARD THE MIDNIGHT TRAIN — THIS BEER IS WORTH THE TRIP
Boombox Brewing brought something a little different than what we usually carry from them this time around. Nope, it’s not an IPA… it’s a Milk Chocolate Coconut Stout. It’s brewed with oat flakes, lactose, milk sugar, cocoa powder and it’s conditioned with a ton of coconut and espresso beans. Dessert in a can, the light at the end of the tunnel; whatever you’d like to call it, just come get a taste. If it sounds good to you, it’s even better than you think it will be. Try it before it’s gone, because I’m drooling just thinking about it.
HAPPY 20TH ANNIVERSARY, OLD YALE BREWING!
It may not be Thursday, but I have a throwback for you. As if you needed another reason to drink, Old Yale just had their 20th anniversary and like any good party… they brought some good beer. This one’s not a new brew, but a tribute to an old favourite: Sergeant’s English IPA. With a balance of malt and bitterness, this beer is brewed with Magnum, Golding, and Cascade hops, which adds herbal, floral and even a bit of a citrus-y flavour. It’s good and it’s only here for a short time -- don’t miss out!
